Fresh and functional office furniture impresses 28-strong team in new Derby office.
When leading international infrastructure group, Balfour Beatty, secured new power transmission and distribution contracts in April 2016, it needed a new office in Derby to accommodate 28 full-time staff.
Our brief was to seat 28 people on benchdesks with plenty of storage. We were asked to lift the room, which was spacious but had low ceilings. The “war” room used for meetings and training also needed refurbishment. Installation had to comply with stringent safety regulations applicable to all aspects of Balfour Beatty operations.
To create a bright, light feel and comfortable workspaces, we used white bench desks with coloured dividing screens. To maximise storage without compromising the clean lines, we used under-desk pedestals and sliding door cupboards on the end of each benchdesk run that matched the width and height of the desks and screens. In the war room, flip-top tables could be easily moved to suit different meeting and training formats.
Delivery and installation requirements were no problem for our experienced team. Simple solutions were quickly found to ensure compliance with RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) regulation, and Balfour’s ban on open blades on site.
The project completed on schedule in 3 days.
“Thank you for our lovely, nice and bright, fresh feeling new office space (some of the words used by my colleagues)”
